Daisuke Tanabe


Daisuke Tanabe is an electronic musician and producer based in Chiba, Japan. A former art student who spent some time living in London, Tanabe originally came from a techno/breakbeat background before developing the unique experimental compositions he’s become known for. While still living in London, he released his 2006 debut EP, Gas, which brought him to the attention of well-known British DJs like Gilles Peterson and many. He continued to develop his unusual mix of hip-hop, electronica, jazz, and folk through various EPs and singles, all leading up to his debut album, 2010’s Before I Forget. A collaboration with Britain’s Kidkanevil under the name Kidsuke followed in 2012. Two years later in 2014, he released his second album, the intricately detailed “Floating Underwater”.


Nobumichi Asai


Graduated from the Department of Science, Tohoku University.


Nobumichi Asai is a world famous new media artist known for his application of technologies such as face mapping. He gained a lot of attention for his face mapping collaboration with Lady Gaga and Nile Rogers at the 2016 Grammy Awards, which was broadcast to more than 200 million people worldwide.


For his pioneering VR work “Ghost in the Shell” he received Best of VR at the Venice International Film Festival in 2018.


His face mapping work “INORI-Prayer” in collaboration with AyaBambi created a lot of attention online and received six domestic as well as international awards including Short of the Year – Best of Experimental (Germany).


“INORI – we pray all nukes will eternally disappear from the world. (2017)” is an artwork on the theme of radioactivity. It was selected as an art project by Luciano Benetton’s IMAGO MUNDI. The installation (2018/7-11) and a lecture were held in Venice (2018/7). The world ’s first volumetric laser hologram, “light of birth (2016)” was exhibited at the Milan Triennial Museum and Media Ambition Tokyo.
